
In countries like Kenya, shoe throwing is an expensive form of protest
1- A shoe incident that shook the world in Kenya. Two people from the citizens who reacted to President William Ruto during a rally threw their shoes at the president as a protest. President Ruto was extremely disturbed by this situation and gave the order to arrest the two people who threw their shoes.
2- In fact, in countries like Kenya where poverty prevails, the price of a pair of shoes must be quite high. In other words, the protesters caused great damage to their budgets by throwing their shoes. However, President Ruto is not much more valuable than the protesters’ shoes. Instead of throwing their shoes, the protesters could have found a stone and thrown it, but it seems they did not think of it.
3- Politicians can be protested under any circumstances. Although throwing shoes is an interesting form of action, it is not an action taken to kill President Ruto. In other words, it cannot be described as an attempted murder. It is an innocent action, but Ruto must see himself as a demigod, and this action was evaluated as an action taken to his reputation.
