Are leaders there for the people or are the people there for the leaders?

1- The reactions that started after the imprisonment of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu in Türkiye continue. Although the number of crowds has decreased, there is still reaction. The opposition, who say that President Erdoğan sent his biggest rival to prison, say that the reactions are a struggle for democracy

2- Whether the reactions are a struggle for democracy or not, we will draw attention to another point; the same thing happened in Pakistan a short time ago. Khan, who was dismissed from office, called his supporters to the streets and invited them to fight for democracy. Now a similar thing is happening in Istanbul. The leaders do not hesitate to take the people to the streets and make them react for their own party or interests. They are actually thinking of continuing their own power by showing the people a virtual goal called democracy. Is this what is happening in Türkiye today?

3- The reason for the reactions is the reaction towards President Erdoğan. The opposition embraced Ekrem İmamoğlu because of this reaction and took to the streets to protest in order to make him president. Otherwise, Istanbul Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu is not a hero of democracy, he is someone who is no different in character from Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. He has no concern for democracy. His only concern is to come to power in the country and to govern the country as he wishes. Even when he was the Mayor of Istanbul, he acted like a head of state, used the municipality’s financial resources for his own personal goals and funded his own personal media with this money. The result: Leaders use the masses by saying democracy, and the masses take to the streets and take action for the power of those leaders, thinking they are marching for democracy.
