Reeves: Can customers be as good economists as bank employees?

1-The real question about Chancellor Rachel Reeves’ CV is: Can a person be a good economist just because they worked at a bank? When we look at Reeves’ background, she worked at the Bank of Halifax and the Bank of England, but the units she worked at were either mortgage service or public relations.

2- Can a person present themselves as an economist just because they worked at a mortgage service or in the public relations department? Let’s say they did, can this person be considered an economist?

3-The real important thing is, did they work in the bank’s top management? Did they do work that would affect government economic policies, did they take part in the bank’s capital planning? Let’s ask an even more radical question: Can all customers with an account at the Bank of Halifax be good economists? After all, don’t they also work at the bank?
