1- Keir Starmer to announce radical NHS changes to reduce waiting times
According to a report in The Guardian, patients in England will receive direct referrals for tests without seeing a consultant, but critics say the plan is ‘deceptive’. Prime Minister Starmer always talks big but we have seen no results.
2- Even before the radical plan was revealed, experts have already begun to criticise it. For example, how will patients be able to get a referral without seeing a consultant? Will it be possible for a patient to diagnose themselves? Or, let’s ask: are consultants the cause of waiting times in the NHS?
3- Even if Starmer does something right, he no longer has credibility. In other words, the public no longer expect him to do the right thing. Starmer has long lost that trust. If the radical change the government makes is not accepted by the public, that change is meaningless.
