Victims of the Grenfell Tower fire say they are still waiting for justice after a devastating report blamed the fire on a series of “dishonest” corporate and government failures.
Dozens of people lost their lives because of corporate failures, but nothing has changed in the meantime, companies continue to build, and government officials who gave the company permission to build and did not monitor it remain in office.
What has been done for the Grenfell victims is the same as in so many other cases. The government says it will open an investigation. Years pass, then another statement comes out and some person or company apologizes and the case is closed.
So two years ago we made a proposal and asked for an island to be set up for politicians and bureaucrats who apologize. Because those who apologize do not receive any punishment and can run for office anywhere. We should have sent them to an island far away from the country and prevented them from coming back to us, and that is why we made the proposal. We still stand by our proposal.
