When Turks say something about rich people, they always say: ‘Wealth is always a disaster.’ We remembered this saying after the news that British businessman Mike Lynch, his 18-year-old daughter and his cook disappeared with the sinking yacht. Yes, wealth is a disaster. Like everyone else, rich people die, but they die in luxury. In other words, if they lived a normal life, they would not go out to search for the wreckage of the Titanic ship in a submarine and would not get lost.
They would not go on a world tour with an old model ship and die in the middle of the sea as a husband and wife. Or finally, they would not get lost in the sea while swimming in money like 59-year-old British technology entrepreneur Mike Lynch.
That’s why we always say: ‘God gives everyone happiness and pain in equal amounts. Those with money are not much happier than those without money. While those with little money enjoy being happy with small things, those with a lot of money constantly pursue new pleasures and adventures. One dies peacefully in his bed, the other disappears in the water.
Which is better, the choice is yours.
