We criticized the benefit culture for years, but we were wrong

Labour Work and Pensions Minister Liz Kendall said it was time to end the blame culture in the welfare bill.

In fact, until a few years ago we were also criticising the benefit culture and advocating for a change in the system. However, after 14 years in Conservative power, we have come to the following conclusion.

We used to say that benefits make people accustomed to laziness and are unfair to working people. Now we say this: The people’s money is returning to the people.

‘It is much fairer for the money collected from the public to be distributed as benefits to the public, rather than the taxes paid by the public going into the pockets of a few elite groups, politicians and media outlet owners, and providing unjust enrichment. At least there is money going into the pockets of the public, not into the pockets of thieving politicians and capitalists who rely on politicians. At least there is money going to a public that is being provided with a good life, rather than to politicians who are getting rich.

So we have come to believe that it is stupid to blame the beneficiaries for the benefits.
