There was an interesting news-commentary article on the BBC news website today. The article actually started with a question, but it also revealed a truth. Child abuse, sex and money. The BBC’s question is ‘Why is the Church of England struggling with child abuse allegations?’
There are 2 elements that Islam and Christians consider important in their religious people: Sex and money. Religious people love both sex and money, but they always talk about heaven.
You can come across a lot of child abuse in Muslim foundations and Quran courses. There are even religious teachers who abuse boys. Child marriages are quite common, and they use the marriages of the Prophet Muhammad as an example for this.
There is a similar situation in churches: Child abuse and sex are two elements that are always on the agenda and can never be solved.
There is no way to solve this in both Islam and Christianity. Because it is seen as a ritual. Maybe it is a part of religion. So when they reject this, they are in a state of mind as if they are rejecting their religion.
That’s why we ask at every opportunity: Did religions bring peace or war to the world?
